External Dacryocystorhinostomy Surgery at Biratnagar Eye Hospital, Nepal

Introduction: Nasolacrimal duct obstruction at the junction of lacrimal sac and nasolacrimal causes acute or chronic dacryocystitis. Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is treatment choice has a high success rate. Objective: To analyze rate external DCR surgery its influencing factors our hospital. Methods: It hospital-based descriptive study cases that underwent from June 2016 to February 2017 Biratnagar eye The demographic data were recorded successful outcome along with -tube status, operating surgeons, gender was analyzed. main measure defined as patent passage on syringing 6 months postoperatively. Chi-square Fisher’s exact test used for statistical analysis. Results: In total 317 patients, mean age patients 38.46 (SD ± 13.6) years. male female ratio 1:2.5. commonest presenting symptom watering discharge in 224 (70.6%) patients. Of total, 195(61.5%) had undergone intubation 122 (38.5%) without intubation. Only 114 (35.9%) followed up months. 86.8%. Postoperative wound infection, bleeding cheese wiring punctum not seen. No statistically significant seen influence surgery. Conclusions: External no found define this study.
